UAIS Group 3 - History of World Civilizations

I am extremely excited to be the History of World Civilizations teacher at the Utica Academy.  As the primary writer of the course and as one of the most successful AP World History teachers in the country, it is a pleasure to take on this unique challenge with each of you!  The IB theory and practice is consistent with my teaching methods and goals.  Today's students are in need of a greater understanding of their fellow citizens around the world.  In Individuals and Societies (social studies) students will be required to be aware and active citizens.  I will labor to involve philanthropic activities throughout the course and my students will be active in a variety of charitable causes that far from ancillary are directly tied to the understanding of our interconnectedness on this planet.  As a district leader in reading skills, as a successful coach, I am a motivator and will demand success but provide you with the tools and support to achieve what we set out to accomplish.  I have been and continue to be enthusiastically committed to students' futures.  I am excited to teach at the Academy and believe the objectives of the program to be in the best interest of our community and consistent with my personal philosophy toward education.
