UAIS Orientation Overview

What to expect?

The UAIS Orientation has been designed to prepare students for both a new learning environment and a new learning style that will be the centerpiece of the Academy experience. Students will develop a sense of camaraderie with classmates, association to the Academy, familiarity with teachers and staff and an understanding of the challenges the Academy will present. Though the Orientation is voluntary, it is highly recommended as a means to prepare the students for the Academy experience. Topics in 2008 included, Learning and Living in a Diverse World, UAIS Team Building and Leadership, and Ways of Thinking and Knowing. Students had a fun and interactive series of days that helped them grow into the Academy as learners.

What should I bring?

Students should dress comfortably but appropriately. Remember, pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 1. Students should bring a bag lunch on Wednesday and Thursday.

Where should I go?

Students should meet in the Heritage cafeteria where more information will be available.
