CAS / EE Coordinator

I began the first seven years of my teaching career at Malow Junior High School, serving in a variety of roles that included piloting the pre-AP program, developing integrated lessons and units across other curricular areas in a team-teacher setting, and acting as English Department Chairperson.  As a member of the initial Academy planning team, I have been provided the opportunity and foundation upon which we have constructed the four year UAIS curriculum for English, one that will not only challenge our students but also provide them with the tools to journey with spiritual and philosophical purpose as they approach adulthood, all while gaining quality instruction in critical reading, writing, and speaking skills.  At our academy, I sponsor the UAIS Key Club, one of the largest Key Clubs in the state of Michigan.  I also serve as the Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS) Coordinator and Extended Essay coordinator for the diploma years students.  Working in concert with my esteemed colleagues, I am truly honored to be a teacher and coordinator here at UAIS.
