Participated in the (GLJSP) Great Lakes Japan in the Schools Project;

Incorporated Japanese into the Exploratory Language curriculum;

Coordinated Japanese sister school visitation;

Presented Japanese in Exploratory Language at Michigan State University;

Welcomed Japanese teachers and/or administrators during their month-long home stay with UCS;

Supervised student teachers with French and Spanish majors from various universities;

Served as foreign language department chair;

Participated on foreign language and English textbook committees;

Served as building athletic director for 16 years.

Coached track for 20 years;

Coordinated the Vel ninth grade girls' volleyball tournament for 14 years;

Served as lead writer on the Blue Ribbon application at Shelby Junior High;

Served as School Improvement Chair for several years;

Was nominated for WDIV teacher of the year in 1999;

Coordinated the Washington DC trip for ninth graders for 8 years;

Served as a junior high school Assistant Principal.

Instituted Heritage High Five - a program that honors good students at a monthly breakfast attended by their parents.

Active member and leader of two ministries at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church
